I've never been a fan of Labour Day weekend, it always feels like the end of warmth, light and joy. Most of my fondest memories seem to come from these carefree days and long, warm evenings. Summer has always been filled with all the things I love and treasure the most - lazy days by the water, family excursions, spontaneous picnics, the smell of the sun on my boys' skin, flipflops, the sound of the ice cream truck, sangria ......I can go on and on.
As I sit here on the eve before all this unstructured joy ends, the only thing that has me remotely excited about the impending cold, wind and frosty extremities is the prospect of a new fall/winter coat. It is the ultimate statement piece that will be worn everyday for the next six months or so. With this type of commitment, you better be sure that you love this item and that you have chosen well. I have found my 2017 style and it's shearling!!!!! Found on every F/W runway, shearling will give me the luxe feel that will help me get over the fact that it's bitter cold, dark and grey. Here are some of the shearling looks that have rocked the runways and fit any style, whether you love colour or lean towards the darker looks.
Enjoy......care of Alexander McQueen, Fendi, Prada, Roberto Cavalli, Proenza Schouler, Hermes, Balmain........
